Max's First Christmas!

Our first Christmas with Max was exhausting, but Max held up like a pro to the constant handling, late nights and loud Zimmermann family! We spent Christmas Eve at Aunt Jeanne's and Uncle Jim's. We played our usual pass games which are always loud, chaotic and a bunch of fun. Max didn't seem to mind but he did get a little crabby near the end of the evening. On Christmas morning we woke up and went to Mimi and Pawpaw's and had breakfast with Alicia, Scarlett, Zach, Duncan and Nona before opening gifts. After that we were off to Beth and Brian's to spend the rest of the day with Nana, Papa, Maddie, Ethan, Ellie, Doug, Kim and the twins Avery and Sydney. We were glad the twins were able to be there because this was their first outing. We had dinner, opened more gifts and played with the kids toys. On Friday we headed back over to the Miller's to visit Uncle Scott, Aunt Joyce, Devon and Madison who were able to make it and played more pass games. On Saturday we headed back over to the Zimmermann's for one of Pawpaw's fish fries and family games. The fish was great and I'm sure Pawpaw can't wait to teach Max how to go trout fishing! Then on Sunday we went to visit Nana and Papa and watched football and Noggin. So needless to say we're all pretty pooped! I'm sure Max is glad that we haven't had to be anywhere this week.

Splish Splash

Like Father, Like Son

Nana said the other day that I look so much like my Daddy that it's scary!

Silent Night

The last three out of four nights Max has slept for five to six hours at a time! Although not the whole night this is still considered sleeping through the night. We'll see if this continues... I'm so delighted that we'll be able to get more rest at night!  J

Mommy's First Night Out

Last Friday was my first night out with the girls. Christine and I went to Jessica's Pampered Chef party. Yes, very exciting! Well, Max and Mike must of had a conversation the night before because all Max did all day long was pout, cry and refused to take a nap. So, of course Max was perfectly wonderful for Mike the whole evening!  J

Happy Two Month Birthday

Yesterday we celebrated Max's two month birthday by taking him to the doctor.  He weighed 11 pounds even and was 22 3/4 inches long. Dr. Mueller said he's growing like a champ! I asked her about Max always laying his head to the left side and she took a look at it. She said it was starting to get a little flat. So we have to work on wedging a blanket under him so he won't lay on that side all the time, but it's no big deal for now.
I can hardly believe it has already been two months! Max likes to smile a lot. I'm sure he'll be laughing soon. He coos but still likes to grunt as his primary form of communication. He very strong and likes to whip his head back, especially when I try to burp him which he despises. He still enjoys his baths until we have to pluck him out of the water. He's a little water baby!  J

Busy Busy

Wow it seems like we've been so busy lately! On Saturday evening Max had his first visit with the twin girls, Avery and Sydney, since they've been home. The Muresan girls aren't too much older than Max. It's going to be so fun to see how they interact when they're older.
Max and I went out to lunch with some girls from work, Pat and Danielle, on Tuesday and had his first visit with my former work buddies. Max was pretty good for the most part as long as I kept the stroller going. When I went into Macy's all the girls oohed and awed over him. It was great to see everyone I use to work with. I really enjoyed it. Someone asked if I missed working. I don't miss working; I miss all the gossip! And I miss you girls a bunch!
Max seems to be getting bigger and bigger everyday or should I say heavier and heavier! Mommy's arms are getting a work out! All he wants to do is eat all the time. Lately every two hours. I've noticed that some of his newborn clothes are starting to look quite tight and I've been pulling out some of his three months clothes for him to start wearing. I stepped on the scale the other day with him to get an idea of how much he weighs. Max weighs ten pounds now. He goes to the doctor for his two month check up on Tuesday, so we'll see how big he's getting.  J

All Smiles

Max is starting to show all kinds of facial expressions. We can get him to
smile at us by making goofy noises. Now we are waiting for him to start
laughing and giggling with and at us. Mr. Personality in the making.  M

Wake Up Max!

Max had a lot of  visitors on Saturday! First Christine and Jessica dropped by to visit. Christine can't get enough of Max and is always so excited to come over and hold Max. Too bad I forgot to take a photo while the girls were here. Then later in the evening my Mom and Scarlett dropped by because Scarlett said she wanted to see baby Max. My mom said whenever they look at the blog she insists on watching Max's bath video several times. In this photo she was actually saying, "Wake up Max! Wake up Max!" Also instead of touching Max she pet Max. I guess she was getting him confused with our cats.  J

Going to Visit Grandma

On Wednesday Max and I went to visit his Great Grandma Zimmermann for the first time.  I was shocked when Grandma told me that she use to make formula with Pet milk! She also talked about how they only had one crib and the various sleeping arrangements for everyone. We all had a good time and Grandma was glad that we stopped by so she could see Max before he got too big. She also agreed with Jeanne and said that Max had a Zimmermann nose. I think he does also, but Mike thinks it's too early to determine quite yet.  J

Bath Time Fun

Look how big Max's tummy is getting!

Remus and Mooch

Our cats have been adjusting to Max really well now that they have figured out that he's staying for good. For the most part we try keeping the cats off the baby stuff, but sometimes we give in to them. Remus did try to hop into the baby bouncer several times yesterday, but we wouldn't let him. Although it would of been entertaining to see how he thought he'd be able to get comfortable in it.  J

Little Stinker

So I was reading What to Expect In the First Year and for the second month it said that your infant may stay up for longer periods of time, usually thirty minutes or more.  Well on some days, like yesterday, Max decides that he's going to stay up all day long! Except for the occasional dozes in the bouncer. Thank God for the bouncer! You can hold him and rock him and just when you think he's asleep, he'll give you a wide eyed look. That's one of the reasons Mike and I call him a little stinker! On most nights he falls to sleep when we do, but last night he kept me up till 1 am! The joys of parenting.  J

Max's One Month Check Up!

Max had his one month doctors visit today. He is growing so fast and will be driving before we know it. He weighed in at 8 lbs. 7 oz. and measured a length of 21 1/2 inches. He gained about 2 lbs and grew about 2 inches in one month. At this rate, when he is 10 years old, he would weigh a whopping 240 lbs and come in at 20 feet tall!!

One Month Old

On Sunday Max was officially one month old. It's hard to believe! The three of us went over to my parent's to watch the football game and for dinner. I dressed Max up in his cute Rams football attire and matching rattle socks. Too bad the Rams are horrible and lost 3-47, or something like that. We all took turns and posed with Max by the cozy fireplace.

Four weeks old

Max is four weeks old today. He has been filling out a little bit more. His face is rounder, he has a bit of a double chin and his belly is much fuller now. His one month appointment is on Tuesday, so we'll see how much bigger he has actually got. Max's means of communication is grunting, usually when we're doing something he doesn't like he'll give us a grunt to let us know of his disapproval.

Election day 2008

Max went with us to the polls this morning so he could participate in the electoral process. We could not pass up the chance of having him possibly take part in history. We stood in line for an hour and a half, we stood outside for like 40 min. and little Max slept the whole time making it very easy for us to vote without incident.

Halloween 2008

We headed over to my parent's house to celebrate Halloween and hand out candy. Although they don't get a whole lot of trick or treaters in their neighborhood. When Mike and I arrived my Mom was sitting out front but I wasn't sure where my Dad was. I said, "Where is Dad?" My Mom said he's laying out in the front yard. Yes, I had walked right past him. He was laying in the grass with his Michael Meyer's mask and dark coveralls. It was a pretty fun idea but he wasn't to good at scaring the kids. He couldn't even scare Scarlett! Later he turned his mask inside out and did his best John Mc Cain impersonation to entertain us. So, basically we sat outside and watched my Dad lay in the front yard. Alicia and Scarlett came in for the weekend and got back just in time to take Scarlett around the neighborhood. Alicia dressed up as Amy Winehouse, she had the beehive wig, and Scarlett was a mermaid. I was just glad to get out of the house and to spend time with my family.

Halloween Eve

It's Halloween Eve and we decided to put Max in his costume that Danielle bought him. Thanks Dani! Max is our little monster and is the farthest thing from scary. Our little Max looks so cute and we are surprised how well the costume actually fit him. Max is still really small and all his outfits still seem to be big on him. The Dragon costume fit perfect except the hood. Its a little large, but totally adds to the cuteness.

3 Weeks Old

Max turned 3 weeks old today, and things could not be better. He eats and sleeps on a regular basis with out much fuss. He squeaks when he is hungry and when he wants to be changed, besides that he is a quiet little boy. We are giving Max baths all the time and he really loves the warm water.

No More Sponge Baths!

Max enjoys bath time, especially when Mommy washes his hair.

Maxwell and the mohawk.

Max has the perfect hair for a mohawk. There is nothing else that can be done with his hair. Max is the cutest thing in the world. He likes to cry until we pick him up for some cuddling.

Time Flies

I can hardly believe that it has been two weeks already! I'm still adjusting to the feedings, especially the night ones, and getting by on less sleep. But so far so good! Max is a happy little baby and only cries when he needs something. Mike's mom, Phyllis, said that when Mike was a baby all was good until the three week mark when colic set in. So, let's pray that doesn't happen!

Happy Birthday Dad!

We had a busy weekend! Friday night was our first trip to the grocery store. It turned out to be a success because Max slept the whole time, but I could tell Mike was a little anxious to get him back home, even though he was completely covered up. At one time he said, "Well, we need to hurry up because he's probably sitting in a shitty diaper!" It's funny because he always use to tell me to relax and now it seems like I'm the one telling him to calm down. On Saturday went went over to Aunt Jeanne's house for a little while to visit. We couldn't stay long because Mike and I had some friends, Kurt and Sarah & John and Christine, come over to visit that evening. We had a good time hanging out and like usual had way too many leftover appetizers. Then on Sunday Mike celebrated his 31st birthday. I asked him earlier in the week what he wanted for his birthday and he said nothing, but I knew I wanted to get him something. Well, Mike had sent me an email on Friday when he was at work that said, "I think Max would like these...." and a website to Monster Factory. The site sells handcrafted plush monsters. So, basically Mike would like to play with Max's stuffed monsters. So, birthday present solved!
