Halloween Eve

It's Halloween Eve and we decided to put Max in his costume that Danielle bought him. Thanks Dani! Max is our little monster and is the farthest thing from scary. Our little Max looks so cute and we are surprised how well the costume actually fit him. Max is still really small and all his outfits still seem to be big on him. The Dragon costume fit perfect except the hood. Its a little large, but totally adds to the cuteness.

3 Weeks Old

Max turned 3 weeks old today, and things could not be better. He eats and sleeps on a regular basis with out much fuss. He squeaks when he is hungry and when he wants to be changed, besides that he is a quiet little boy. We are giving Max baths all the time and he really loves the warm water.

No More Sponge Baths!

Max enjoys bath time, especially when Mommy washes his hair.

Maxwell and the mohawk.

Max has the perfect hair for a mohawk. There is nothing else that can be done with his hair. Max is the cutest thing in the world. He likes to cry until we pick him up for some cuddling.

Time Flies

I can hardly believe that it has been two weeks already! I'm still adjusting to the feedings, especially the night ones, and getting by on less sleep. But so far so good! Max is a happy little baby and only cries when he needs something. Mike's mom, Phyllis, said that when Mike was a baby all was good until the three week mark when colic set in. So, let's pray that doesn't happen!

Happy Birthday Dad!

We had a busy weekend! Friday night was our first trip to the grocery store. It turned out to be a success because Max slept the whole time, but I could tell Mike was a little anxious to get him back home, even though he was completely covered up. At one time he said, "Well, we need to hurry up because he's probably sitting in a shitty diaper!" It's funny because he always use to tell me to relax and now it seems like I'm the one telling him to calm down. On Saturday went went over to Aunt Jeanne's house for a little while to visit. We couldn't stay long because Mike and I had some friends, Kurt and Sarah & John and Christine, come over to visit that evening. We had a good time hanging out and like usual had way too many leftover appetizers. Then on Sunday Mike celebrated his 31st birthday. I asked him earlier in the week what he wanted for his birthday and he said nothing, but I knew I wanted to get him something. Well, Mike had sent me an email on Friday when he was at work that said, "I think Max would like these...." and a website to Monster Factory. The site sells handcrafted plush monsters. So, basically Mike would like to play with Max's stuffed monsters. So, birthday present solved!

The Shrinking Baby?

Well, not really... Today was little Max's first doctor's visit. Everything went well, it turns out that he's only 19 1/4 inches long. They said that the way they measure the baby after delivery is usually inaccurate because they just lay the baby on a sheet of paper and make two marks to get a measurement. I guess it's hard when you got a squirmy, slippery baby! He's also back up to his original birth weight, when he left the hospital he was 5 lbs 10 ounces. So both Max and I have been doing a good job breast feeding. It takes most babies two weeks to get up to their birth weight. Afterwards we all stopped by to say hi at Mike's parents, David and Phyllis. I was excited to get out of the house and excited to sport my new Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag that Mike had got me as a Mother's Day gift. How sweet huh? I was packing the diaper bag using a bunch of various diaper, diaper wipes and baby samples they have sent me in the mail and I came across a little packet of Medela Tender Care Lanolin. Did you check out that picture of the baby on the product? I had to laugh because I've never seen a baby with so much hair! Kinda hard to believe, it looks like a baby toupee if you ask me.

The first bath time & visit from Uncle Zach

Zach came by last night to visit Max. We think that he likes Uncle Zach already, who was not afraid to handle the little guy.
Besides our visit from Zach, last night was also Max's first experience with the sponge type bath at home. Needless to say, we need to work on this, I have a feeling we did not move fast enough, thus letting the water get cold. Max did not like this to well, and he let us know with a verbal assault that made both Jessica and myself very uneasy. After all was said and done, we prevailed a made that bath time a success. It was well worth the trouble and he got that new baby smell back. Which I just figured out is Johnson&Johnson baby lotion. They do not smell like that naturally. Last night was an experience for all three of us.

I'm going home!

Max and Jessica were released from the hospital on Sunday Oct. 12, 2008 at 11:00 am. Max's first car ride put him fast asleep. He was out before we had a chance to buckle the little guy in. He was almost too small for our infant car seat, but we managed to make everything work safely. Jessica took a great picture of Max's feet that is too funny not to post.

The Maxwell Minute

Hello everyone! Maxwell David Muresan was born 10/09/08 at 11:11pm. He weighted 6 pounds 4 ounces and was 19 3/4 inches long. Mommy had to deliver early because at her doctor's appointment her blood pressure had skyrocketed and after further examination it was determined that she had pre-eclampsia.  We created The Maxwell Minute to keep everyone updated as possible and because we know he's so precious and adorable who could resist...
